J.A. King / NC Measurements Corporation
Vision Engineering Founded in
1958, the privately owned Vision Engineering Ltd. has become one of the world's most
innovative and dynamic microscope manufacturers. Vision holds world patents for techniques
which maximize the ergonomic performance of a range of mono and stereo optical microscopes.
The company manufactures stand-alone mono and stereo microscopes and the company's
renowned DynascopeT eyepieceless inspection and non-contact measurement systems, Mantis®
stereo viewing system, Alpha® expanded pupil microscopes, Lynx® eyepieceless stereo
microscopes and ISIS expanded pupil eyepiece accessory. All the systems, whether used
for inspection, measurement, in the laboratory, or as production tools, offer the
operator freedom of head and body position, and the Vision systems offer a significant
reduction in eye fatigue. Vision Engineering has revolutionized the optical inspection
and measurement sector by adopting emerging new technologies in optical production,
precision injection molding and vacuum forming, to give the highest optical performance
at the minimum cost. Our main manufacturing base is at Send, in Surrey, UK. Vision
also has a North American division, which manufactures in New Milford, Connecticut,
USA and operates direct sales and distribution networks from regional offices on the
East and West coasts and New Milford, CT, USA.

Mantis combines the viewing ease
of bench magnifiers with the high resolution of a microscope. Bench magnifiers have
magnification and resolution limitations, while conventional-eyepiece systems are
inherently difficult to use. The Mantis large viewing area promotes maximum comfort
while producing razor sharp, three dimensional stereo images. Operators will no longer
suffer from eye, neck or back strain commonly associated with eyepiece technologies.
Safety glasses or corrective vision eyeglasses may be worn during use.

Lynx The eyepieceless viewer enables
unmatched freedom of head and body position, eliminating operator fatigue, due to
a 64x larger exit. This produces a high-resolution image over a large viewing area.
Spectacles or contact lenses may also be worn in comfort during use. A variety of
objectives and multipliers complement the 6:6 to 1 zoom-ratio offering a combination
of magnification up to 120x. The modular design enables the user to select optimal
mounting, illumination and camera options.

Alpha utilises Vision Engineering's
patented ISIS Exit Pupil Expansion technology to provide up to 10x greater freedom
of head position. ISIS technology expands the available optical pupil allowing the
operator more than 38mm of head freedom from the eyepieces. Alpha eliminates the need
for users to precisely align their eye with the centre of each eyepiece. Users can
simply move their eyes to view the full image area, rather than repositioning their
heads or the workpiece. Spectacles or contact lenses can be worn in comfort during
use. High-precision optics provides maximum brilliance and high-contrast images, up
to 160x magnification (7-40x standard). The modular design enables the user to select
from a wide variety of options, including mounting, illumination and camera options.

Beta 'Eyepiece' Zoom Stereomicroscopes
provide high quality stereo zoom viewing for industrial and biomedical applications.
Critical issues in microscope usage are:
-
Quality of optical components
-
Zoom unit performance
-
Presentation of image
-
Durability of design
High-precision optics provides maximum brilliance and high-contrast images, up to
160x magnification (7-40x standard). The modular design enables the user to select
from a wide variety of options, including mounting, illumination and camera options.
Vision Engineering has used over 40 years of experience in design and manufacture
of leading edge microscopes to produce a high performance, low cost stereomicroscope.

VS-8 PCB Inspection: As surface
mount technology becomes more prevalent, the pitch finer and configurations more complex,
your equipment must keep pace. Specifically designed for component examination, the
VS8 features stereo-zoom magnification to 80x. The 34° oblique mirrors are motorized
for efficient 360° viewing around components or solder joints. The indexing table
has a quick release board holder with locking X and Y-axis and is available with fume
extraction. The VS8 will eliminate, operator fatigue and reduce scrap maximizing the
efficiency of your operation.
